Brief Description
UL’s Executive MBA is a part‑time, two‑year programme delivered through eight intensive 3‑day on‑campus blocks per year (four per semester).
The programme is designed to provide you with vital skills to excel in fast-changing environments. Throughout the programme, you’ll sharpen your critical thinking, strengthen your strategic decision-making, and grow as a proactive, forward-looking leader. The UL MBA will help you and your organisation through boosting your resilience, equipping you with essential tools to empower and engage others, enhancing critical thinking for strategic action, and developing superior data analysis skills for more informed decision-making.
The programme is built for busy professionals to develop strategic leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and managerial vision across five key themes: Internationalisation, Managerial Vision & Competencies, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Strategic Thinking, and Leadership.

During this programme, you will:
- Sharpen your business leadership skills with a focus on five key themes: Internationalisation, Managerial Vision and Competencies, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Strategic Thinking and Leadership.
- Develop as an intelligent, proactive leader that businesses require today with the ability to empower and engage others; apply critical thinking to act strategically and make better informed decisions based on superior data analysis skills.
- Deepen your understanding of critical issues affecting selected areas through your choice of electives.
- Acquire knowledge that is relevant and immediately applicable in a business contex
Key Information:
- Complete part-time over two years
- Delivered on campus in three-day, intensive, blocks, with four blocks per semester and two semesters each year
- Modules taught during autumn and spring semesters
- In addition to the core modules, you will also need to choose one elective per semester
- Course includes two Winter Schools, held each January in Years 1 and 2
- Submit a dissertation at the end of the final semester

Year 1
Autumn Semester
Core modules:
- Financial Reporting (AC6051) equips students to prepare a set of financial statements in accordance with applicable reporting standards for a range of business structures
- Macroeconomics and the Global Economy (EC6051) provides an introduction to the core principles of macroeconomics and economic policy
- Market Orientation & Customer Focus (MK6002) introduces students to the philosophy and function of marketing

Spring Semester
Core modules:
- Managing in the International Context (MG6082) explores issues relating to the management of organisations at an international level.
- Data Analysis for Business Decisions (MA6001) provides an understanding of how statistical inference provides sound evidence for business decisions.
- Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MP6014) (MP6014 assists students in understanding the core concepts of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship

Core modules:
- Corporate Strategy Analysis (MG6003) addresses the domain of the strategic manager in the private and public sector
- Strategic Human Resource Management (PM6003) provides students with an understanding of the linkages between business strategies and HR practice
- Information Systems and Knowledge Management (MI6003) provides a strategic perspective on the role of knowledge, information and technology in organisations

- Implementing Strategy (MG6004) focuses on issues of strategic implementation and change.
- Strategic Leadership (MG6014) helps executives understand and apply leadership theory to the practice of their day-to-day work.
- Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Management (MP6014) encourages creative, innovative and enterprising behaviour.
- The Strategic Management of Projects: Science & Principles (MG6024) explores the underlying concepts, principles, paradigms and organisational level implications of the increasingly ubiquitous project form of organising

- Management Project/Thesis
Text books are provided by the KBS. Students can also access extra readings through the UL Glucksman Library.

- Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree (NFQ Level 8), with at least a second-class honours grade 2 (2:2), or an approved professional qualification.
- At least four years' experience at managerial experience.
- An acceptable score in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Records Examination (GRE) may be required.
- An interview with the course selection panel.
International students:

- Title the documents you are uploading. For example, "Personal Statement", "Undergraduate Transcript", "Postgraduate Transcript", "English Language Certificate" etc.
- * If you are waiting to graduate, submit your application with the documents you have to date, you don’t need to have finished final exams before applying.

Please note this programme is not eligible for international study visas. Visas are only available to students studying full-time in Ireland.
Annual fees are billed by semester. Once registered, students may be eligible to apply for a monthly payment plan.
