The aim of the Healthy UL Healthy Eating Sub Group is to develop and enhance the food and nutrition policies and programmes in UL to ensure that the University has a comprehensive response to the Government’s Healthy Ireland framework, with respect to healthy eating.
We wish to contribute to the promotion of the health and wellbeing of the university community (staff, students and visitors), supported by the development of sustainable research programmes in nutrition and health.
University of Limerick is committed to advancing the mission of healthy, affordable food for all campus users. We regularly assess the food environment to gauge healthfulness, accessibility, affordability, availability and satisfaction and promote menus that are reflective of our diverse, international community.
Eating on campus
There are lots of different places on campus that serve food and drinks. Each one has its own focus, offering seasonal options and highlighting local producers.
This supports Healthy UL’s work to promote nutrition policies and initiatives. We also provide education and resources to help students and staff make healthy choices more easily. You can also find examples of the food we offer on our website.
