Accommodation
All incoming students can apply for on-campus accommodation across the different villages at the University of Limerick. Please note, accommodation is limited and not all students may be successful in their application.
Applications for accommodation typically open in February each year.

If you wish to opt for off-campus accommodation, there are several off-campus residences and privately rented houses in the locality. Please see our University of Limerick Off-Campus Accommodation Listing database. UL does not accept liability for accommodation advertised on this off-campus database.

Please beware of fraudulent persons purporting to be landlords/landladies on Facebook, Internet sites or other media. Do not pay money to persons for accommodation, unless you are absolutely sure that they are genuine – landlords/ladies should not request full payment of rent before you have arrived in Ireland. Always request a contract be signed.

Arrival in Ireland
Ahead of each semester UL Global hosts a full Welcome Week programme to help our new students settle into life at UL.
Welcome Week for Autumn 2026 is provisionally scheduled to be held from 31 Aug 2026 to 04 Sep 2026.
We ask all students to be on campus for these dates. We will confirm preferred arrival dates ahead of your arrival to UL.

Please contact ULGlobal@ul.ie as soon as possible if you expect a delayed arrival to UL.
On arrival to Ireland, you will be asked some basic questions by the airport Immigration Officer in relation to your stay. You must be able to present to the Immigration Officer any documents necessary to explain the purpose of your visit.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have everything with you. At a minimum, this includes:
- Your passport
- Visa (if necessary)
- Boarding card
Other useful documents may include:
- Your UL offer letter
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Proof of health insurance that covers the duration of your intended stay
- Details of your accommodation
Life in Ireland
A Personal Public Service (PPS) Number is a unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland.
You can apply for a PPS number online.
In order to get a PPS Number, you must provide evidence of
your identity (current passport)

Current UL students can generate a Confirmation of Registration letter through the Student Portal. You can use this letter when submitting an application for a PPS number.
