This micro-credential introduces the core concepts and terminology of supply chain management, helping you understand how to design and optimise the flow of goods, services, and information.
Delivered over 5 weeks at Level 7, the module focuses on the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model, an industry-standard framework for analysing supply chain performance.
You’ll learn how to map processes, identify improvement opportunities, and build a strong foundation for further study or career development in logistics and operations.
This micro-credential is ideal for professionals working or seeking employment in technology-rich industries, including managers who want to reinforce their experience with an academic qualification in supply chain management.
During this module, you will:
- Understand the key principles, terminology, and drivers of supply chain performance,.
- Understand the need for an integrative frame of reference in structuring supply-chain activities in terms of transactional activities and outcome measurement; in particular to understand the main high-level elements of the SCOR model with some ideas on how to implement it in practice.
- Build sought-after skills in supply chain mapping, planning, and measurement, and understand how to apply these tools to real-world business scenarios.
- Boost your employability or prepare for further study in logistics, procurement, or operations management by gaining industry-relevant knowledge and tools.

You will be assessed through 1–2 continuous skill-based assignments, provided by your lecturer with no final exam.

- This Micro-cred is open to those currently employed or seeking employment in a variety of technology rich industries, such as Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Biotechnology and Manufacturing.
- This is an introductory module and aimed at those who have a Leaving cert or equivalent.
