The library's collections support teaching, learning and research. To enhance user experience and enable remote and simultaneous access, the library has an e-first policy for modern collections used primarily for teaching and learning.

Faculty should send requests for new material to libinfo@ul.ie quoting the module code and the number of students taking the module and the library will attempt to source the book in electronic format. Items required for research will also be bought.

The Library's Collection Development Policy sets out the detail of what is purchased for the collections and any queries about this should be directed to libinfo@ul.ie
