Financial Support for 2026 Applicants
- Applicants from Ireland or the EU may be eligible for the Professor Tom Lodge bursaries (worth €5000). If you intend to apply for one of these, you should do so at the same time as applying for your intended programme of study.
- Applicants from non-EU countries will automatically be considered for a €2000 fee waiver.
- Other externally-funded schemes that support MA students include the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (worth €10000), the Ireland Fellows Programme, and Fulbright Awards.

Winners of the Peter Mair MA Thesis Awards
The Peter Mair MA Thesis Award honours the legacy of Peter Mair (1951–2011), one of Ireland’s most influential political scientists. Mair began his academic career at the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick (now the University of Limerick) before becoming a leading authority on European party systems and democracy. His work continues to shape debates on representation and political change.
