Luke Kindelan, a first-year undergraduate student studying Journalism and Digital Communication, will launch his book, Our New Friends from Ukraine to Ireland on 21 February 2026 at the Kerry Writers Museum, Listowel, Co. Kerry.

The publication is a timely and heartfelt book exploring themes of friendship, resilience, and cultural understanding in the context of recent global events completed in 2025 and published in October 2025.

The story follows Ukrainian families who arrive in Ireland seeking safety and a fresh start, and the meaningful connections they build within their new communities. Through engaging storytelling, Luke highlights empathy, inclusion, and the shared humanity that unites people during times of change. The book offers readers an accessible and compassionate way to explore displacement, belonging, and intercultural friendship, while celebrating the richness that new communities bring to Irish society.
