The Glucksman Library provides a range of bookable spaces to support study, collaboration, and university-related events. These spaces are designed to meet contemporary teaching and learning styles, offering flexible environments for individual focus, teamwork, and innovative projects.

Group Study Rooms (Capacity: Various)
- For collaborative coursework and projects
- Book up to 2 days in advance, for max 2 hours
- Some rooms are AV-enabled

Single-Use Study / Wellbeing Booth (Capacity: 1)
- Acoustic booth for calls, presentations, or quiet time
- Book up to 2 days in advance, for max 1 hour
- Not fully soundproof

Media Production Labs (Capacity: Various)
- Audio Labs: Record podcasts and audio presentations
- Green Screen Lab: Video recording, practice presentations or experiment with VR
- Equipment available to borrow from Makerspace (book ahead)
- Book up to 7 days in advance, for max 2 hours/day

Bookable spaces designed for faculty and staff meetings, training sessions and collaborative learning. Ideal for professional development and group work, not for regular teaching.
Meeting / Training Rooms (Capacity: 4 to 12)
- 4 rooms for up to 4 people; 2 rooms for up to 12

- Faculty networking/reading space (not bookable – adjacent to meeting rooms on Floor 2)

iZone (Capacity: 12)
Bookable by faculty, staff and researchers for small group demos or instruction. When not reserved can be used by students as a group study space:

Appellate Court (Capacity: 48)
Bookable by faculty, staff, researchers and approved groups (priority is given to School of Law):
- Court-related events only; priority for School of Law

- No food/drink; catering restrictions apply

Creative Lab (Capacity: 8 - 4 podcast table)
A versatile space for media creation. Supporting audio, video, and green screen production. Use it to: Create engaging teaching and learning content. Produce podcasts and videos for research, outreach, and marketing. Develop impactful media for strategic communications

Data & VR Lab (Capacity: 15)
Bookable by Researchers, Faculty & Staff. A specialist space for, but not limited to, data visualisation, analysis, digital scholarship, presentations, and experimenting with VR.

- High-end workstation for VR programming and casting
- Meta Quest 3 Headset. Additional VR headsets available from Makerspace (book in advance)

The Glucksman Library offers flexible spaces that faculty and staff can book for university-related events & exhibitions. These spaces are not intended for classroom teaching or regular instruction, and some serve as priority student study areas when not requested for events.
- From Week 9 to the end of the semester, the library is at its busiest as students prepare for exams - some of these spaces are dedicated to study and will not accommodate events
- All booking requests are mediated and reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure alignment with library guidelines
- The library AV & Media Support Officer offers technical support during Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and should be booked as part of your event
- Event spaces can be requested via the relevant space listed below, or email the library to discuss your event
CoLab (Capacity: 40 round table / 50 theatre style)
- Self-contained; serves as student study space when not booked
- Reconfigurable layout; drywipe boards

Popular Reading Room (Capacity: Up to 100)
A bright, open space ideal for readings, talks and VIP events.

A high-traffic, open area suitable for exhibitions, open days, career sessions and Plaza Café catering.

Gate Foyer (Capacity: Various)
A prominent location before the entrance gates, perfect for information stands or small displays.

The Library supports UL’s engagement with the external community by welcoming tours throughout the year. However, tours are generally not scheduled from Week 9 to the end of the semester (generally November/December and April/ May) to avoid disruption to students during exam preparation. to avoid disruption to students during exam preparation.

- No catering within the library from Week 9 to semester end.
- Catering may be possible outside the Plaza Café, contact them directly.
- We are a Green Library, all catering must use reusable crockery/cutlery; single-use items are strongly discouraged.
- Event coordinators must arrange catering with approved UL suppliers; the library does not manage this. Please ensure you arrange collection of catering for after event.

Purpose of Rooms
Study Rooms, Faculty & Staff Rooms are intended for collaborative or group activities such as assignments, projects, research, presentations, and meetings.
These spaces must not be used for recreation, interviews, private tuition, scheduled tutorials, classroom teaching, office work, external training, or commercial purposes. Misuse may result in cancellation of your booking
Before you arrive
- Keep your LibCal confirmation email as proof of booking and for cancellations.
- Note your room number and time for easy location.
- Detailed T&Cs are available when booking online; these may vary by room.
Booking Guidelines
- Library staff do not manage bookings for most spaces (except Media Rooms, Appellate Court, Creative Lab, Data & VR Lab, and Event Spaces). Ensure your booking includes the correct name, email, and details.
- No long-term or recurring bookings (e.g., weekly or monthly).
- Bookings are restricted to UL students and staff using a valid UL email address.
- If you arrive 15+ minutes late, your room may be reassigned to another group until the next available slot.
- Anyone using a room without a valid booking must vacate if requested by a group with a reservation.
- Individual Study Booths: Designed for one person only.
Room Use & Conduct
- Rooms cannot be “held” with belongings; unattended items may be removed.
- Keep noise to a minimum - rooms may not be soundproof.
- Leave rooms clean and tidy; remove all belongings and library materials when finished.
- No food or drink, except water in a reusable container. Dispose of litter responsibly.
- Do not move furniture between rooms or alter layouts.
- Use of rooms is subject to the Library Code of Conduct.
- Library staff may enter rooms for security, maintenance, or other reasons.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere in the library.
- Inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the space or library; staff may request UL ID for verification.
